Centers Mission: 1) Study the social, political and economic situation in the Caucasus; 2) Information support to the reforms in the South Caucasus states; 3) Promoting the positive understanding of western liberal democratic values in the Caucasus; 4) Support for the development of civil society in the region; 5) Creation of database and dissemination of information. Working Methods of the Centre: The centre carrying out the research on the following issues: The characterizes of the democracy, formation of privacy; The structure of power and election systems; Anti-terrorist campaign and its influence on the situation in the region; The problem of religious extremism; Inter-state integration; The role of religion in the regions social and political life; Ethnic conflicts and the methods of their early prevention and regulation; National and regional problems of security; Petrol contracts and Silk Road. The role and importance of those programs in forming national independence of the regions countries. The Centre use the experience of Caucasian researchers, as well as the researchers of other countries The centre publish an electronic digest twice a month in English and Russian languages; Establishing contacts and cooperation with the similar centre, organizations and institutes based abroad; Creation of public monitoring mechanisms on the activities of governments; Preparation of recommendations for political power. |
